Federal Income Tax Withholding:
Effective August 7, 2001, the amount of federal income tax an individual my elect withheld from UI benefits changed from 15% to 10% of the weekly benefit amount.

Job Fairs

The Glasgow Department for Employment Services participates in local
Job Fairs. To find out about local Job and Career Fairs and other employment
related events visit our Community Employment Bulletin Board (CEBB). If you 
are an employer or job seeker interested in staying informed about Job Fairs
across Kentucky be sure to check out the 2003 Master Recruitment Calendar 
for a statewide schedule of Kentucky Job Fairs.

On Site Employer Day

Department for Employment Services (DES) sponsors on-site Employer Days.  For an employer to participate, the job opening(s) for which they are recruiting are listed with our centralized Job Bank (270-651-2121). DES staff from all our locations will then recruit for potential employees. DES will arrange and schedule interviews and appointments per the employer’s specifications, conduct testing, assist with administering an employer’s test or any of the suite of tests administered by DES. If it is the preference of the employer DES will have applications or resumes collected from interested job seekers for the employer’s review. Office space is made available for the employer to conduct individual interviews or group presentations. Telephone, fax, copiers, and printers are also available for the employers’ use. Additionally the employers job listings will be advertised through our media resources. Employers interested in participating may contact us at desbarren@mail.state.ky.us to make arrangements and inquiries.
